Welcome to Clitherbecks Farm self catering accommodation. Clitherbecks Farm is a small traditional hill farm one mile north of the village of Danby and the nearby North Yorks Moors National Park Moors Centre. Clitherbecks Farm is at the head of it's own small valley facing south with a beautiful view across Eskdale into Little Fryup Dale and Danby Castle. If you are looking for a place to unwind from the stresses of modern day life you would do far worse than to stay in this stone built farmhouse. Although the farm is quite isolated there are shops in Danby and a bank, small supermarket, filling station and 2 pubs in nearby Castleton. Both villages have a train station on the picturesque Esk Valley railway which links Middlesbrough and the ancient sea port of Whitby.
The accommodation comprises of a living room, a kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom all within the stonebuilt farmhouse. You will have your own entrance and key so you can come and go as you please and your front door opens onto a fenced in garden so pets and young children will not wander far. Lets are for one week Saturday to Saturday and we are open all year. Pets are welcome but dogs must be kept under control and be wormed for round and tape worms before arriving on the farm. Tuition in dry stone walling is available on request but must be booked at least a month in advance. Last but not least seasonal produce and butchered lambs and shearlings are available to take home with you. You will need to bring a cool box with you and give us at least 3 weeks notice before commencement of the let if you wish to take some home with you.
